Inspiring Young Audiences: ÖÖ32 Quartet’s Educational Concerts in Tallinn Schools

On October 28th, the ÖÖ32 Quartet visited two Tallinn schools — Mäepealse Kool and Gustav Adolfi Gümnaasium — to present a pair of educational concerts for young students. In total, more than 360 pupils had the chance to experience the exciting possibilities of a string quartet up close.

Exploring the Versatility of a String Quartet

The goal of these school concerts was to show how rich and diverse the sound of four string instruments can be. Our program moved from the elegance of Vivaldi and the bold character of Prokofiev to the vibrant colors of jazz and folk music, and finally to modern favorites by Queen and Coldplay. By blending classical repertoire with contemporary and popular music, we aimed to demonstrate how a string quartet can adapt to many styles and create a wide range of musical atmospheres.

An Enthusiastic and Engaged Young Audience

One of the most rewarding parts of the day was the students’ reaction. The young audiences at both Tallinn schools listened with curiosity, asked questions, and participated with genuine excitement. Their energy showed how meaningful it is to bring live classical and modern music into the classroom.

Our Commitment to Music Education

The ÖÖ32 Quartet is honored to perform educational concerts in Estonian schools, helping students discover the fun, emotion, and creativity that music offers. We are committed to continuing this mission and bringing inspiring musical experiences to young audiences across Estonia.

Thank you, Mäepealse Kool and Gustav Adolfi Gümnaasium, for welcoming us — we look forward to returning with new musical adventures!
